Riikka Kuoppala
Riikka Kuoppala works in Brussels and Helsinki. She received her M.F.A from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, 2010 and studied in Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. Her practice consists of narrative films and video installations and the recent projects include a collaborative film Maunula and a video installation discussing Finnish missionaries’ influence in Namibia through her own family history. Her work has been exhibited at Turku Biennale; the Gothenburg International Biennial for the Contemporary arts; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; Le MAGASIN, Grenoble; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki and Museum of Modern Art, New York.
